Connie offers a variety of pens, letter openers, magnifying glasses, key rings, flashlights, ceiling fan pulls and more. She also makes one of a kind bottle stoppers inlaid with a wide variety of minerals and turned from the finest hardwoods of the western United States. A wine bottle paired with a mesquite stopper inlaid with turquoise makes a fine Southwest style combination! We specialize in mesquite from here in the Southwest and bigleaf maple from Oregon, but also use a variety of southwestern "exotics", including desert ironwood, madrone, Arizona walnut, manzanita and others. Our local wood comes from trees that have fallen during flooding (yes, Arizona does have floods), or salvaged from trees cut back because of landscaping or disease.
We obtain our minerals during the annual Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, which is probably the world's largest gathering of international gem and mineral dealers, allowing us to choose the finest specimens from literally thousands of sellers from Russia, Africa, South America, China and of course the United States. Our wood specimens are likewise chosen for their rarity and figure, but almost exclusively from domestic hardwoods.
Each piece is hand turned and assembled by Connie and is offered with an unconditional money back guarantee. Return item for a refund or replacement within 30 days of purchase if not completely satisfied.
Our work is distinguished by its fine materials, clean crisp details and flawless finish. We sand each piece to 2000 grit and follow with French polish to produce a surface delightful to hand and eye. Many of our pieces are then buffed with diamond and wax.
Custom orders are welcome.
